News Update: 7/7/07
Fox Performance Engines will be taking on very limited work from this point on. The only services we will offer will be a limited amount of crankshaft work and clutch housing venting.
Fox Performance has just acquired a new Turner Technologies Crankshaft Balancer. With this new piece of equipment we can provide you faster crankshaft balancing services.
When I am on the track racing I don't think about much except for next corners coming up and trying to plan for the last two laps and where I want to be and how I am going to get there.
When I am practicing on the track for an upcoming race and there's no checkered flag to get to, I tend to have some more free time inside my helmet to ponder certain things. One of the things I seem to never think about just before I nail the shifter from 4th to 5th to 6th bouncing off the 12,650 rev limiter, is just how smooth the engine is operating, like some piece of clockwork that doesn't miss a tick so smooth that you really don't even take notice of it at all, you just seem to forget that you have several pounds of extremely dangerous metal parts, rotating at speeds that are undetectable to the human eye. Yes there's nothing like a 90 degree twin balanced to point that it kinda just disapears.
I've updated the crankshaft page on my web site, so have a look. There's FAQ's at the bottom and even a movie link to click on if you care to wait for it to load. it may take awhile, I have to upload a condensed version of it for slower internet connections. Please let me know if you have any trouble viewing for now, and how long it takes to load. I do my own web programming so I am not to savvy on how to mod MPG's for quick internet usage yet.
